Been let down by my first dress... 4 weeks before my wedding. So called and made appointment for same day at this bridal shop. The lady got the dresses out that I was interested in...put them in changing area but then left me to it... I stood there for several minutes holding an un zipped-up dress on with some man walking around with another member of staff. Waiting for the lady to come back and help me. I told her the colours of my flowers and mens waistcoats ect. But she didnt seem interested at all! .. but I was only offered the 3 dresses to try on. I panicked and bought one... felt grotty after begging for them to help do them up... and the lady disappeared for a chat at every opportunity. So bought the wrong dress. Got in the car sobbed because of the terrible experience. Brought the dress straight back in (7 mins) and had to pay 15 for a refund. I then went yesterday to a shop in Stanford le Hope. The lady stood at the changing room curtain. Handing me the next dress and taking one off me... nothing like my experience at ivy blue where I was left hanging them back up myself!! The lady at Stanford le Hope advised me on colours... shades... she had a lovely little catwalk thing. And my freind could sit and watch. The lady gave me her full attention and made me feel so special. I think customer service is awful at Ivy Blu.After just reading the response to my review. Im amazed!! I spent time on the phone explaining Ive had to bring my WEDDING forward and that its onky a registry office wedding so dont want a white dress. I phoned and as far as Im concerned being told I could come down... was good enough for me to assume I had an appointment. I think you need to ask your member of staff... I told her why my wedding was brought forward because of my dads health. She asked where was I getting married. And I told her the colour of flowers because we talked about the colour of waist coats. You obviously wasnt there. She only went to see if she could get one dress in a different size/colour. But other than that I didnt ask her to go get any other info. So still not sure why she disappeared! Im 38 years old so I think even if I hadnt said a word Im not going to a prom. But as I say... we spoke lots about my wedding and what a rush its all been. Yes I went and got my purse... and spent time upset but panicking about not having a dress. You may not want to aknowledge how I felt after leaving your shop. But I didnt feel like that after leaving another shop and receiving better treatment.
Lovely day prom dress hunting. Friendly assistant and beautiful dresses.
I went to ivy blu to try on prom dresses a while ago after being recommended by a friend. When we were there the staff were very kind when we first arrived. The lady helping me was lovely - however I dont remember her name. I tried on the dresses and I loved them. They are lovely and well made. It was quite a long time before my actual prom so I was in no rush to choose a dress that day. But when I was deciding what dress I was going to have out of a couple that I loved a more senior staff member came over and started pressuring me into choosing. I asked if I could be given a couple of minutes to decide but she kept pressuring me. In the end I completely zoned out because I felt like she just wanted to take our money and didnt care about what I as a customer wanted in the end my mum politely answered saying I needed time to think about it and we began to walk out of the shop but we were followed by the pressurising staff member who was still trying to get me to buy a dress. By that point I had decided that even though I loved some of the dresses I definitely would not be buying my dress there due to her poor customer service skills. In the end I visited a few other shops and I had wonderful experiences in them all. So if you want a nice dress ivy blu is a good place. But if you want good customer service then definitely dont go here.
Fantastic shop, lovely staff and amazing dresses!I purchased my dream wedding dress here, thank you Ivy Blu and thanks for being understanding with me coming back to try it on several times! I've absolutely made the right choice in gown (and in shop) !
As an older bride I was really nervous about wedding dress shopping! I neednt have worried as the staff here are fantastic at putting you at ease, letting you try on what you choose and gently encouraging you if they think another style might be more suitable. They were spot on, their choice was the one for me and I snapped it up! I have since been back for a tiara!Cant recommend them enough
