Absolutely awful, only interested in money, not in the animal or their owners welfare.
Highly recommended. Great staff and vets.
The strangest thing , we have been coming here years but thelast time we phoned because we were worried about our dog , we were told there were no appointments until MID DECEMBER - 3 weeks away ! If you phone a vet , who , lets be honest - you pay well for , - you do so because you are worried. Imagine accepting those terms to be told " IF ONLY you had come to us sooner we could have saved your pet" but as you left it so long better to put it to sleep ??? WE were told the only way was - like NHS doctors to phone every morning on the off chance there is an appointment. - SO WE booked elsewhere & the STRANGEST THING - the other person waiting had had exactly the same conversation - so also changed vet. WHAT is going on ?
I've had dogs for years now and seen many vets. But the levels of care and the attention to detail my dog has received from Alan and his team are second to none. I'm eternally grateful for this and i am sure Hector is as well. A big thank you. Steve Willis.
The quality of care, I have no concerns with. What I do have a concern with is the manner in which staff conduct themselves when it comes to charging practices. Despite their good reputation, in my experience it appears that the company adopts a policy which I can only describe as; undertake what work they believe is required at whatever costs regardless of whether they have the owners consent. This behaviour is unethical, unprofessional and dishonest. To some people, the cost is a secondary consideration when looking after their pets. The ability to pay hundreds and thousands of pounds with or without pet insurance is not a luxury afforded to all.I wont go into detail on here but all I would say is be vigilant when it comes to using Summerdales. The owner doesn't understand how to cost. A routine dental clean/extraction I was quoted 165 for, became 255 when booking and 415 once finished. To my disappointment and fair to say I don't trust them and have taken my business elsewhere. My recommendation to management is that next time be open, honest and transparent about your pricing. Be more thorough when checking animals mouths as the pet owner shouldn't find themselves pressured into agreeing to further works which should have been spotted and quoted for first time round.
